is it possible to use the RetroReplay with TFR flashed plus a REU at the same time...?! I played around with an expansionsport-extender (CMD) and it seems as if it does work basically but transfers are interrupted all the time, and damn slow too... most times it says "c64 didn't acknoledge file transfer request" or "device not present". some spare times it did work though.

as far as i know REU uses $df00-$df0a as registers while the RetroReplay just uses $de00-$de01, it even has a reu compatible mode, but i don't know if TFR uses this mode and is written with REU compatibility in mind...
RR-Net itself uses $de02 - $de0f. so there shouldn't be any register collisions??!

i use:

RetroReplay with TFR 0.6 flashed
RR-Net connected to my PC
Codenet/ Netdrive, Warpcopy and the like
REU 1764
CMD-Expansionport Extender. (is it called so in english?? you know what i mean...)

anybody made experience with RR-Net and REU??

i have this particular problem and posted in different forums by now but nobody seems to know what's wrong:
it seems to be a problem of my CMD-Expansionsport Switch:
using TFR+RR-Net alone on my C64 works fine but as soon as i use it on the switch it won't work, even if the RR+RR-Net is the only thing on the switch(!!!) and this is reaaaaly strange, isn't it?
the TFR boots ok but all transfers with codenet/ netdrive won't work properly or not at all.
could anybody please check if this occurs with other exp-port-switches as well??! mine is from CMD.

or does anyone have an idea what's wrong there????

anybody a users manual for that CMD-Switch??

Hmm.. unless the Expande messes with the I/O or C/S lines somehow. It could perhaps be a signal / timing related problem though. The REU probably pulls a lot of power and together with RR + RR-net it might be too much.

RR is quite picky about the signals - using it with other cartridges may result in a combination which may work with one expander and fail with another, even if they are identical. I have 5-port expander myself, MMC64+RR combination works if RR is in either of two slots nearest to C64. I don't have REU or RR-net to test with.

I have tried a few combinations myself. 1750 REU and also RamLink. Also 3 different brand expansion carts. Nothing seems to work together.

but with my setup rr-net-stuff won't work as soon as it is connected via the switch, even _without_ REU or anytghing else attached to the switch at the same time!
any ideas?

I have the same problem here. If I conenct RR cart with RR-Net to my 3 slot cart expander, RR-Net will only work reliable with the middle slot.
If i ping it, 95% packets are returned from slot 2. This is pretty normal with CodeNET i guess. From slot 1 and 3 it's more like 1%.
The expander is a simple EXROM, GAME, ROMH, ROML switch.

Has anybody tried RR-Net on the MMC from a port expander by any chance? Just wondering if there's a difference there.
