I was wondering ..
do you think it would be possible to hack out the codenet bit of tfr and run it as a stand alone program ? if this was possible , then you could use it as a network wedge to copy stuff directly from the network onto the mmc.

I did also play with this idea and tried to dump the CRT "code" by just move it to $0800 in the memory and try to run it.. but well my skills are not that good, so it did not work.
Then I also thought if it's possible, since the memory would be overwritten by the data(transfered to the MMC)? Hmm. very interesting if it could work.
Maybe something to implelent in the next rev. of the MMC bios?

Good luck,

This would be great, as I'd love to use codenet and Warpcopy64 on my IDE64 with RR-Net. Obviously I couldn't send D64 images, but single file copy to/from the IDE64 would be super.

Wait.. can you hook up IDE64 directly with RRnet? Or can you actually use RR cart together with IDE64?

I leave the Retro Replay in Flash mode - that way I can use the RR-Net and the IDE64 at the same time. Obviously I can't use any of the RR facilities in that case.

You can also use MMC64 and IDE64 together, and MMC64 has accessory connector. I haven't tried RR-Net as I don't have one, but Silversurfer works so I don't see why RR-Net wouldn't.

Do they look for RR-Net at $df20? Retro Replay maps the connector to $de00, MMC64 can put it at either $de00 or $df20 (use bit 3 of $df11 to select the base address). First one doesn't work with IDE64, second one does.

TFR (The Final Replay) recognizes the RR-Net if you put it on the the MMC64 accessory connector but (I guess) it's not supported (yet).

Try it yourself; stick the RR-Net on the MMC64 accessory connector and enter the INFO command.
You now get an overview of the connected hardware.

I'll ask Graham about this when he's on irc.

I asked Graham about the RR-Net/MMC64 combo but he doesn't know if it works. He couldn't test it himself due to a broken MMC64.
