Plugin to flash new ROM image into Retro Replay FlashROM, source included. Do not try to learn anything from it tho, it's totally ugly Report any bugs, and also let me know if it doesn't recognize some Retro Replay specific images. |

Updated already, stupid me uploaded version which crashes immediately... I forgot to ask new RR owners to test it to see if really recognizes any other Flash chip than AMD 29F010. My beta tester seems to have disappered... |

Ok, just tried the new version... I flashed RR 3.8P rom with an earlier version of binplugin, the new plugin did not identify it when I tried to flash again (different checksums). Then I tried to flash it onto the lower bank, I got "ram check: error" and now it finds RR 3.8P on the upper bank. It says "Erasing error Press R to retry". I retried and get no error, but RR 3.8P is still only identified on the upper bank. Now on the third attempt at programming the Lower Bank it works and the Lower and Upper Banks are identified as RR3.8P. I now restart and try to flash jawbreaker. It says "warning bank select jumper may be open", it is closed (I don't understand if it should be closed or open anyway). RR 3.8P is identified in both banks, I now try to flash the lower bank. It works fine! I now try to flash the Upper Bank with Jukebox. Works fine! Testing games: Bank select jumper closed: Jawbreaker works fine. Jumper open, jukebox works! Now I flash back RR 3.8P onto the Lower Bank - works perfectly! Looks like I got unlucky on the 1st attempt, but from then on, all works fine. I like the way you can't exit until flash jumper is removed! Thanks for a great plugin! Ed |

Sounds like flaky jumper and/or cartridge connection. This text from FlashUtil 0.5 docs applies to plugin as well: Quote: If you encounter bugs along the initial tests, MOVE THE JUMPERS FORTH AND BACK.
This improves the connection usually. Make sure to only use pure alcohol and NO contact sprays to clean the contacts of your retro replay ! |
