Since I do not post anywhere else on the web, this seems to be the appropriate place to tell the tale ... people, this is almost too good to be true - but it is: a few weeks ago, I was asked by a friend wether I want to pick up "some old computer stuff" he found in an abandoned building his company was about to demolish. So when I got there, I was delighted to find a CBM 4040 disk drive and a CBM 610 computer.
And today, after days of bargaining with its previous owner, I was happy to buy a working 1581 disk drive including the original packaging for €100, quite a bargain! But what really gives me the kicks, at least for today, is this:
3160 blocks free.
hehe ... *finally*, after 23 years, this kid can enjoy thousands of free blocks. Ha!
